DesignTech remote starter

Purchased a 2000 F250 that has a DesignTech remote starter. I think it is model 20921. Appears to be an older discontinued model. Remote only has a start button. It did work. I decided to change the battery in the remote. The red light on the remote comes on when I press the button but it will not start now. Assume it needs programmed since I change the battery but have no instructions. Could not find any for this model on the DesignTech web site. Anyone know how to program one? I did download the instructions for a 20924 model. Don't know if those would work.

Thinking of replacing this model with a current one that might add remote entry. Not sure if i should stay with this vendor or go with another? Suggestions?

Called DesignTech. They said I need to do the code learning process since I changed the battery. They sent me the PDF manual. Will give it a try.

Interested in updated to a unit that does remote entry as well. I do have power locks. Suggestions on vendors or units to consider? Plan to have someone do the uninstall and install.
