I have a 1994 302 Windsor and I just hit 175k... is that a lot of miles for a 302? i love my truck and really dont want to get rid of it... whats the longest some one has seen these run... should i start to worry about the engine? I do all the regular mainenence myself, oil every 3k with 10W-40, puting a new cap and rotor on soon... tranny probably has 75k-100k on it, rebuilt a while ago.
I have paranoia lol soo yeh... just givce me some tips to pro-long the life of my engine.
Some only run 100K, some 300K. It all depends on the care and use it's had, and a little luck. Mine's doing just fine at 210K other than a couple minor leaks. If it's running strong and healthy now, don't worry about it. I'd probably use 10w30 oil instead; do some reading and decide for yourself though.
Well my truck is a 93 f150 with a 302 and it has 225k miles on it. I got it a couple years ago from my uncle when it had about 205k miles on it. I have replaced the wiper motor, the starter, coolant temp sensor, plugs, rotor, and of course oil changes. Just recently I replaced the pcv valve. It of course leaks at the rear main and possibly one other spot. It has just recently started idling rough, so I need to look into that. I was thinking of using some Seafoam on it, but I'm kinda afraid it will clean off what is keeping the truck running.
Well i have heard people who have had there trucks with the 302 over 300,000 km and still going pretty good im sure the engine will outlast the body unless you live in a rust free area but they rust quick
mine seems to be running stron.. its my first vehicle so its hard to tell how other engines run, my dad has a 2003 F150 that i drive but it have a Triton 5.4 so you can't compare the two trucks... The wiper motor i know needs replaceing... $200 lol not cheap tho.. going to get cap and rotor as i stated, thinking of getting new plug wires as well...

Yours uses the same wiper motor as mine and I got mine @ autozone for $74-25 for core. It was fiarly simple to put in. Autozone has the repair guides online if you register on their site.
within the last year i put 20,000 on my 96 w/ 302 and its got a jegs y pipe and a 2.5 inch exhaust with a 5 speed and 3.55s. i also made my own cold air dealy which i noticed a huge difference in performance when i did that. but anyways mine gets about 13.8 driving around home and about 14-14.5 on the freeway. not to terrible for a 4x4. i got it last febuary with 93,000 on it as of last night it turned 120,350 and the only leak is the rear main but it doesnt lose any oil between changes. i guess i cant complain about it all 210 horsepower...lol
does the 1994 302 have 210hp or 185hp??? wasnt too sure.... i have a catback on it already so it does breathe better. its good to know these engines work for a long time BUILT FORD TOUGH!!!
