My 90' F150 5.0l with an AOD has 129k miles on it. I use it around the farm to haul stuff (hay, feed, etc). It still runs pretty strong and between city & highway driving averages overall around 15 - 16 mpgs.

My 93 302 has about 155,500 Mi on it, never has missed a single beat. Doesnt burn any oil. Its not a torque monster by any means, it runs like my motocross bike...keep it in the meat of the power and it hauls, fall out of that meaty range....dog city.

Of course a few things have been replaced, standard replace items on this generation ford: Exhaust Manifolds (cracked) and Oil Pan (rotted out, I need another one soon).

The tranny is still original and works fine, it was starting to go about 10 years ago but my dad ran some slick 50 in it, one of the valves was sticking, it freed it up and has worked fine for about 80,000 miles since then!

The rot is eating her alive though, such a shame...Ive been looking at newer ones...yeah the "Bubble" (our pet name for the 97-03) F-150s just dont turn me on, and the newer ones...ahh they are a bit better...still....I love the Gen 9s...it will be a shame to see this rig go!

Oh yes I forgot to mention the gas milage....I dont know, not very good! haha about 12 miles a gallon usually, on the highway maybe around 15-17. Thats where the 302 seems to shine, highway use! I took it out on the open highway last week and wow, yeah I was impressed with the running performance at constant high speed. Especially considering the pre 97 Fords arent exactly aerodynamic marvels.

i got bt 10 and 13 with my setup. I change oil about 3500 miles or so. It use to use a quart of oil every 2000 miles that is wht i usually ran bt 3000-3500 miles. The last oil change I put in high milage oil havent burnt any of it and it has been 2500 miles i also use 10w-30 i think that is actually what they recommend.

I can pull up to 18 mpg...strictly highway. I tend to have leadfoot disease at times so I average around 16mpg.

w00t w00t to the fellow teal mobile!

I had 125k before the rebuild. Ran fine, full compression throughout, didn't leak or burn. I just wanted to see what I could do with a fresh motor, and some head work. I bet the OEM motor would have pulled 175k plus.

p.s. Calypso Green to the rescue!

Quite often they seem to be running strong until one day they grenade.

Mine didn't burn a drop of oil and it was meticulously maintained.

One day piston #8 decided to part way and the next thing I know I'm waiting for hours for the tow truck.

I had about 165,000 on the clock but I'm turning 4.56 gears.
Probably equivilant to to about 200K on a 3.55 rig.

My buddy sold his 86 lariat with a 302 @ 280,000 miles without ever having a major rebuild and would run like a scalded dog.

I'm stock all original except for a single universal cat.
I'm at 160,000. Slight smoking when first fired up (bad valve seals).
Runs real smooth, and gets 15 mpg kicking around town.
