Fuel delivery problem

If you have recently installed a new Fuel Pump Rebuild Kit, this could very well be your problem.
Some of these kits are turning up that are junk as far as the Check Valves go in the top part of the pump just over the Diaphram.
There are 2 of these valves one Pull and one Push.
The material they are useing in these are failing and the symptoms you mentioned sound familiar.
Take your pump off and work in manually see if it draws and pushes at the same time. If it doesen't its probably one of the valves gone bad.
