In all efforts to become more fuel efficient, has anyone installed an after market cruise control on their pickup truck? I think that there are 2 different type of hook ups, vacuum & electric?
mine came stock with vacum and like all of them the coffee can looken thing rusted through and i guess it quit worken i am in the process of fixen it the vacum might be a pain to get worken but i would rather have it then electric
Yeah, my trunk didn't come with cruise, so I will have to go with an aftermarket one. Like you said, I searched a lot of threads, and it seems that the vacuum setup is the way to go. I think I might try the Audiovox from JC Whitney.
I installed 2 audiovox units from JC whitney, one on an escort and one on a focus... for a boss and his pop in law respectively.
The codes they said would work were wrong... Would go dormant at 60mph.. after much playing with the dinky switches I got the 90+ cruise I needed on the escort but it would not engage until 50+... Just be prepared to do the same on your truck...
