Question Torqshift relearn???

I am trying to figure out how to do the relearn strategy for the torqshift transmission and saw the article in the tech folder, I was just wondering if someone could break it down in a little more laymans terms for me. The reason I am doing this is that I have installed a Preditor programmer on my 2004 F250 and the tranmission never started shifting smoothly after the required amount of cold starts. I have put it back to the stock program and it shifts fine. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

shurbs2004,

Unfortunately it is a "predator" problem, and no amount of re-learn strrategies on the Torqueshift is going to help. The predator does not properly address the added Hp & Torque the transmission is now seeing.

What manufactures "predator" do you have?

<s>What part don't you understand? I'll admit that it's a little vague in some respects, but it's not too technical. How can I help?<o></o>></s>

Nevermind... I trust BlackHat on this one.

The new style, or the old? Sorry, I don't know the model numbers, just that the old style are T-R-O-U-B-L-E

While the "DiabloSport Predator" is a better product than the "Dr.P Predator", the DiabloSport Predator has still proven time and time again to not properly address the transmission issues it creates with its programming strategy. You can call "DiabloSport" and see if they have any updates for your "predator" that may help with the problem. Unfortunately many FTE members who have used the DiabloSport Predator have reported engine and especially transmission problems with it.

As far as the transmission re-learn strategy in the Tech folder, it is straight forward. What part don't you understand. Disconnect the batteries for about 15 minutes then after re-connecting the batteries, drive the truck as indicated and it will learn. Also the transmission is constantly learning and modifiying based on your driving style.

Hope this helps

It is model #07165 i believe it is the newest one available and it has the newest revision downloaded to it. Any Diablosport Predator owners out there that can offer any help?

Pretty much sounds like you answered your own question in your first post, With the Predator installed, you have transmission shifting issues (which has been the general consensus from all who have used this on the 6.0 & Torqueshift), Without the Predator installed, no transmission shifting problems.

Unfortunately this problem and others with the Predator have come up multiple times in the past on the 6.0 forum. Best advice is to sell the "Predator" on ebay and buy yourself and SCT XcalII with Custom tunes, your engine & transmission will thank you.

Good luck
