just ordered superchips 1704-A for the truck and was wondering which would be the best tuning for mileage? also does the torqshift have to "relearn" shift points everytime i switch tunes? thanks for any input.
Any reason you didn't get the newest 1805 Flashpaq? It's about $100 more, but you can update it online when needed.
I used all three settings for 3 tanks each. Believe it or not the smoothest and best MPG came from the HighPerformance setting. I rarely tow anything and when I do it's only a 3500lb enclosed trailer when loaded. I've left mine in the HP mode for now to see how it goes. I ran the middle on a 500mile trip and got 19.3mpg...While in the HP setting...I just drove the same trip and got 21.9mpg. I did drive at an average of 80mph on this last run so I will keep it around 70 to see what I get on the return. It might hit 22.5...
Think about maybe stepping up to the FlashPaq for the updates and other goodies they have coming.

Every tune has a unique tranimission program and it learns very quickly.
I run mine primarily in the economy mode 05'. I am getting basically the same i maybe a little less in performance mode so i think I will switch back to it and just make myself live with the "extra power"
i'm thinking about getting this same tuner.. maybe the flashpaq.. looking for a little better mileage outta my 03 CC SB 6.0 9" lift 38x15.5x18's.. 80% of my daily driving is highway miles.. right now.. i would have to guess.. using the lie-o-meter and some calculations.. that i'm getting around 12/13 mpg.. was kinda looking for 14/15.. and i want some extra power to turn those 38's when i'm feelin frisky and get on the go pedal..
p8ntballn2...I would ONLY go with the FlashPaq. For the extra money you can't beat the ability to do your own updates. Later other options will be available for use.
I got the best performance also ln the 04 F-350 that I had in the Hi-Perf mode. When I drove back to Orlando from Destin which is about 450 mi I still had about a little over 1/4 of a tank left. I now have an 06 F-350 that has about 800 mi on it today. It seems to have more hp from the factory than my 04 did. I'm going to break it in before the add ons come. My 04 had a 4" alluminized exhaust, an Air Raid intake and the Superchip.
Hey Gatrfanzz, did you ever have any engine issues with your 04, with the Superchips, 4" exhaust, and the intake? That's what I'm thinking of doing, but I am worried about any engine/ head gasket issues...Did you have any problems with your '04?
I had an 04 and couldn't run a chip in it.It would puke coolant all over the place. I just recieved a 06 and think i will keep it stock. I liked the power but the coolant problem wasn't good.
