Erratic Speedometer '96 F250
I have a 1996 F250. I just recently dropped the steering column to replace my worn shift linkage parts. Upon re-assembling the unit, I found that my speedometer function is erratic . While driving it jumps all over the place in 10 or 20 MPH jumps. I can only assume I did something to a wire while I was under the dash. I have pulled the column twice now and can find nothing that is scrapped or shorted or pinched.
I have also replaced the speed sensor in the rear end, but no difference.
Anyone have any ideas ?
