U-joints
what are the symptoms of U-joints begining to go bad? On occasion when I accelerate harder than normal I can feel a slight vibe/grind through the gas pedal and floor, it is very slight but it is there! You guys know the feeling! any ideas?

I had the same problem with my Expedition. It would shimmy and vibrate something awful. Sometimes. It was not there always but it was a real pain. Turns out it was the U joints. Excessive vibrating gone.

boatcop, that is almost the EXACT symptom of a u-joint starting to go bad.
You may have to remove the driveshaft and work each joint separately to be 100% sure though... sometimes they can freeze up but still have no play. Other times you have to "unload" the joint to be able to find the play.
