I have a 1968 302 I am kind of restoring, and I need to replace the coil and the plug wires and the plugs ECT. I have a Mallory distributor in it now and it appears to still be in good shape. I had AC R44 plugs in it. Any suggestions on plugs, wires coil ECT would be appreciated. I also plan to put a Holley 650 double pumper manual secondary on it.
All your comments are appreciated as always, thanks
Motorcraft plugs will work fine, Mallory Sidewinder wires are nice and they make a good coil too. If it is an auto trans, you will be better off with a vacuum secondary carb.
Replace the dual point setup with an electronic conversion module for starters. You'll be glad you did. And if Mallory has a post type cap for that distributor, Ford Racing's 9 mm wire sets for the small block are hard to beat for the price ($40) I too agree with the others about your choice for a carb. The 650 will be too big for a stock to mild 302. If you're adding a cam and heads, it'll do fine.

If you decide to get a new distributor, consider our custom curved Duraspark Distributor built with our new Full Length Oil Impregnated Bronze Bushing. The full length bushing improves timing stability and spark scatter. If stock appearance is not an issue, take a look at our one piece D.U.I. Distributor. Whether you choose the Duraspark or the D.U.I., we curve each on a distributor machine based on your engine combination. Please see them at:
I’m just going to go with what I have right now, but I would like to have a crankshaft pulley that is smaller. If anyone knows where I can get a set of pulleys preferably steal that would be great.

I've got a set of 70 302 pulleys That are single groove, crank is 6-3/4", waterpump pulley is 6-7/8" making it slightly underdriven. Crank pulley # is D0OE-6312-A, W/P is C9OE-8509-E. $30 for the pair plus shipping.
You have to put the 70 balancer on it as well if you put the 70 pullies on it.
Crank, waterpump, p/s, or smog pump pulleys are not year specific and can fit many different years and models.
The 302 vibration dampers ARE year specific. But what type of vehicle is this?
No 1968 F Series truck had a 302, it wasn't introduced till 1969. There are three different dampers listed in the car parts catalog for the years 1968 thru 1972, and three in the truck parts catalog 1969-1972.
The Engine is out of a 68 f-100 and im putting it in a 69 bronco. The Engine in the bronco is a 302 and is original. The engine is the same ive just done alot of mods to the one im putting in there. I just Bought a under drive pulley off ebay. Im just going to use a smaller belt if i can't tighten it up enough with the alt.
