Johnny8 I can pull 27 psi at 2400 rpm and the filter minder didn't move last year.
Same filter installed this year ( I don't drive it much during off season.) I have no plans to ever install the fender sleeve. I made my Zoodad mod bigger than the passage leading into the lower filter housing and didn't put a screen in front of it. Never will either.
I will, someday, put a piece of sheet plastic right behind the billet grill that will be in front of the hole, but not blocking it. It's purpose will be to deflect bugs and stuff from entering the hole.

well, i'm planning on getting one, i'm glad to hear that airflow should not be a problem for me... one other reason why i want to get one is so that i can wash my engine without having to put a plastic bag over the 6637 filter... it's been so long since i have cleaned my engine i can't remember what it looks like..!!!
I went with one as well, the 6637 is very nice, but as stated it gets noisey when towing. First trip with the AIS both my wife and I noticed how much quieter it was in the cab. So my basis, if you are going to tow for long periods, go AIS, if you are just out for better filtration, and like to play, then go 6637.
I could not agree with KWIK or cangim MORE. I put the Baldwin filter on (we used to call it the Kwik filter) and I liked it until I started towing my 4 horse LQ trailers. The first trip to Wyoming -800 miles down I-70 or I-80 or I-90 the drone began to effect me like finger nails on a chalk board. I got home and immediately changed to the AIS system. 200,000 miles later and I still like it and would recommend it. I use Rotella 15-40 and the mechanic that changed my under the valve cover wiring harness could not believe how clean the motor was.
Now that we have resurrected an 8 year old thread, let me ask another question about air filters:
Is anyone running the Purolator PURE ONE of FRAM TOUGH GUARD units in the stock air box?
I have been running these which are pretty equal to me and are DRY coated with something (not sure what it is) and they are nearly twice as thick as a stock paper filter--the FRAM can be had right at WalMart right on the shelf!
