I have a 2005 SCREW with the column shifter, has anyone converted to a console shifter? If possible, is is difficult and\or expensive. Any help would be appreciated before I go any further.
You might want to re-think this, as I really don't think it's an easy project.
Getting the console might be as simple as logging onto ebay, as I've seen them there for a reasonable price, however the shifter might be another storey. I broke the floor shifter in my truck and Ford took $700 of my money for a replacement (what can I say, I needed the truck right away).
The other thing to look at is the shape of the dash. My buddy at work has an FX4 with the column shift and the bottom of his dash is different than mine with the console and floor shifter.
For the effort, I really don't think it's worth it, but hey, all the power to ya if you want to attempt the project.
parts alone are gonna cost you over $1k...and you'll probably need a donor truck sitting in your driveway so you can get parts/pieces as you go...good luck, but IMO, you're better off buying another truck and selling your current one.
