Question 7.3L vibration

How much vibration on an 88 F250 with the 7.3L diesel is normal???? Mine has a pretty good vibration to it, but not as bad as my old 84 mercedes did before I adjusted the rack damper pin....Also what speed should it idle at????

I don't know. My 94 factory turbo 7.3 dosen't really vabrate much. I don't have much to compare, and I think this is very subjective. Mine doesn't vibrate much more than my 5.9 Dodge did. It rattles a little more And I like that. LOL As for Idle speed, mine Idles about 650rpm maybe 700rpm. A little more at fast idle.

Manual tranny after the cold advance kicks off should be 650 RPM.
If I remember right the automatic should idle at 750.

There should be no vibration or shaking at idle.
If it were not for the noise, I can not tell if mine is running.
