In the last 2 days ive been in 2 fast food drive thru's (i really should eat better lol) and as im creeping forward with the building right next to my truck i get this noise like an electric motor winding up kinda. Does it as soona s i start moving forwaard very slowly and sounds kinda like a lil electric motor or something windoing up very quickly. Or like some kind of gear noise. By the time im going 1-2mph it sounds like something is spinning up reallly fast. Frm moving at the slowest speed i can without stopping i hear this whirring, and it "spools up" very very quickly to like 1-2 mph. Dont hear anything when im driving down the street. Sounds crazy i know.
?Havnt had a chance to look into it more yet, but any guesses before i go crawlin aorund my truck? Seems to be coming from underneath the car or maybe the front wheel? Im sure the dealer would ct deaf if i came in about this for warranty so im trying to see whats up on my own first.
Oh i played with the steeringw hile parked to make sure its not the power steering pump doing anything funny but heard nothing. Its only when i roll. Wheel bearing maybe?
I dunno, is it possible its just the engine fan engaging... Maybe stopping at a drive through idling = less airflow = hotter engine = fan engaging when it usually wouldn't when you drive?
Deffinatly not the fan. The noise matches wheel speed, the noise kinda "winds up" with wheel speed while im idling forward ever so slowly. I stopped and started a few times going WTF? Noise matched the acceleration, we went faster noise became higher pitched. Mind yya this is very slow 1-2 mph. Just creeping forward in a drive-thru.

Do you have full wheel covers? I have had them squeek at low speeds as you describe, the wheel is flexing as it rolls and the covers do too, the retainers cause a noise. If you remove them and the sound is gone, reinstall with some masking tape on each retainer.
I have the 03 limited wheels, has the lil center caps. Not that either though. Its a solid constant noise tht kinda "accelerates" with the truck its like a fwweeeeeEEEE that gets a lil louder and changes tone as if something is spinning up real fast. Im trying to think what best to compare it too.

If you have floating brake calipers, they may not be fully retracting, and acting like finger nail on chalkboard
Huummmm that i can see, gonna have to take a ride and feel the wheels and compare the heat. I have had a lot of dusting from my front drivers side wheel im pretty sure the other front wheel was the same though?Gotta go compare em.
Maybe it just needs some grease on the pins or possibly new pins altogether. Gotta get an oil change and im pretty good with a local shop he will take a look at it for free and if all it needs is the pins greased i probably wont be charged anything.
I just dont want it to be a wheel bearing going bad. Well it would be nice to get new ones under warranty so i guess that wouldnt be so bad.
