Neutral safety switch gone bad?
Hi all,
I have '98 5 speed, 4.2L, 4x4 with 80,000 miles. Been a great truck.
Last couple of days, it won't start at first attempt. Dash lights all come on but motor won't turn until I turn the key a second time.
Took up it to the dealer and they thought maybe it was the safety switch but of course it started up fine for them while they had it. At least they didn't charge me.
So I go pick it up today and sure enough on first attempt, no ignition.
Before I take it back, I wanted to see if you think I should just have them replace the switch or if maybe there's some other problem.
Ideas?
