NO Crank

Need some help guys. I have an 99.5 F350 w/7.3. I've had this problem three times now. The truck runs perfect, I get to where I'm going, shut it off and then it won't restart. The cluster comes up, all the relays and fuel pump cycle, but when I try to start it... nothing. No clicking or anything. The past two times I let the truck set after trying 50+ times and several hours later when I tried it started on the first attempt. This time I let it set like before, but it still won't crank. I've checked the batteries and all connections and everything seems to be fine. I pulled the nuetral safety switch connector off; no signs of corrosion or anything else. I tried putting it in nuetral, no difference. I don't know how to bypass the ingnition switch to rule it out. Any advice would be great. Thanks

I am not sure how that particular fuel system is run, but could vapor lock be a cause?

Never heard of vaporlock on a diesel.

When you say "no crank" you mean the engine doesn't
turn over when you turn the key?

Based on the fact that it does it when warm (so far anyway) my guess would be your starter is going south on you.

Yeah, I wasn't sure. I am a gasser, but just trying to think up any plausible reason.

I'm not familiar with the starting circuit on the 7.3 PSD, but I suppose it could also be the solenoid.

I have seen a lot of times on old ford 5.0's that it is the starter. They sometimes will not work when they get hot.
