'77 F150 Engine Code Help

'77 F150 Engine Code Help
I have a 1977 F150 that I thought had a 400 in it, according to the VIN. When I got underneath it however, it was plain to see that it wasn't the stock motor. I had a hard time finding codes for the block, but I found two:
D4TE - located by the pass. side front freeze plug
6A29 - located by the oil filter
Can anyone help me figure out what motor I have in my truck?
If there's another set of numbers that I'm missing let me know.

That truck engine was designed in 1974 and the block itself was cast January 20 /1976.
You didn't give me the suffix after 6050 - ? so I am asking myself what engine was designed for a truck in 1974 ?
How many valve cover bolts ?

With that D4 casting number, it's an FE 360 or 390, nothing else Ford made had 5 valve cover bolts from this time. You might look at the base of the dizzy, just below the rim of the cap...there's are Ford ID numbers there, like: D6TE-12127-AA. Find something like that, and those numbers will ID what the dizzy is and what it was used on. Also look for a carb number, triangular shaped tag on top of carb...and post the VIN the truck might be a 1976. 1973/77's look almost identical.
