Hey guys, I just got some guages. What kind of numbers am I lookin for. I got trans temp, boost, and exhaust temp. Also, any tips for installation would be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch
EGT - keep it below 1250* pre turbo (rear of driverside manifold or start of the uppipe)
Trans Temp - 60* - 100* above ambient depending of how heavy the tow is (220 need to pull over and let it idle in neutral)
Boost - 25# on a stock turbo is about the end of efficiency and the PCM will start to defuel
Installation is fairly straight forward, just remember th ole saying "Measure twice cut once"

amiller93's info is spot on... i will add that you should take your time when installing the sensor for the pyro gauge... i drilled the hole into the driver's side of the exhaust manifold and tapped the proper threads into it... i did all of this with the engine running so that the positive pressure in the exhaust manifold would blow the metal chips from drilling and tapping OUT of the manifold which keeps them out of your turbo... you don't have to do it this way, but it does work... start the job with the engine cold, it will heat up as you are doing the job, but not too bad... make sure you use your emergency brake and chock the wheels for safety if you do it this way...
