one of the broncos i have will not shift while driving normally. It will only shift if you let off the gas completely. it downshifts fine but wont upshift until you let off. well, i decided to restore this bronco and took the transmissions out of this one and another that shifted fine. i was just going to swap the trannys until i saw that the one that wont shift was missing a piece. the transmission book i have calls it the band adjustment locknut and bolt. my question is will putting this in fix the problem i'm having? i have pics to help. any help is greatly appreciated.
btw, how do you insert pics?

its a new modulator, i thought that too, so i replaced it but it didn't help. the tranny book i have says you can adjust the modulator. would that help? if the adjustment screw isn't the cause, then what does it do? i know the tranny needs it.
I had a c6 that wouldn't shift up... it was the little vacuum line from the back of the vacuum christmas tree. Attached it and tie-wired it on...Fixed!
the band in an auto is like a brake. without the adjuster nut it should go anywhere, atleast i wouldnt think. it applies friction to one of the gear sets.
I would put a vacuum gauge on the line at the tranny to be sure you have vacuum, *and* would use a mityvac to apply vacuum to the modulator and see if it holds.
