92 bronco transmission issues

I have a 92 bronco xlt 5.8 with the EAOD trans I started having issues with it not shifting back into 1st at a stop also late shifting into 3rd. Today I had an issue with the truck going into reverse, I shifted into reverse you can feel it engage slightly then then truck wouldn't move until I pushed on the throttle a little then it engaged and moved now it won't move at all in reverse but still feels like it's going into gear. Any ideas on trouble shooting.

As always with our electronically controlled transmissions: check for codes. Once we get codes we can start from there. You have owned this truck for how long? what maintenance have you done to the trans?, do you think something other than normal wear might have caused the problem? did you do any recent mods? how is the ATF level? (must be checked with the truck at operating temp, with the engine running while on Park). But it seems like a worn trans in need of some love, might start quoting local shops as well, to get it rebuilt.

^^ that is some pretty sound advice. I am leaning toward it needing a rebuild but as mentioned that is putting the cart in front of the horse. You need to check it out first.
