I think that I am going to pick up a 12ton press from Northern to press the bearings onto my pinion gear on my 'stang but I would like to know what you guys use them for other than that.

I made up a small bending fixture for use in the press to bend flat stock up to 1/4" thick for brackets, etc. Makes nice smooth even bends up to 90 degrees.
Start with the press and over time you'll make up various fixtures for use with it to press and bend all kinds of things.
I found out in high school that they are an efficient way to paint the walls of a shop, but mostly with oil from an oil filter. I'm still laughing at the look on the kids face when that thing blew...................
I had to help press a pin out of a old bull dozier sprocket. We have a 20 ton press at the local trade school. When the pin finally moved it sounded like a .22 rifle going off in the shop. Scared the crap out of everybody around the press. I thought we had broke this antique sprocket that we working on and was going to have to build a whole new sprocket because you cant find them anymore. Luckily it was just the old pin moving, so we bored the center out and made the correct pin.
