Without the harness I have shown in my post...that brown connector plugs directly into the DOME Light/Cargo Light circuit.
When I say interrupt harness..This means the one connector for the dome light comes off..and this courtesy light harness gets plugged onto it and the dome light harness goes to the other one. Thus adding a harness to the same circuit.
In the same way the Cruise control Interrupt harness plugs into the column harness.
Oh you are a genious. I jsut remembered the truck i pulled this harness from was a 78 super cab that had the courtesy lights and a cargo light. So somewhere in the vast expanse of my parts shed is a harness for the cargo light. the only thing i dont have is the actual light part for the courtesy lights.Well another mystery solved by Mil1ion. If i might ask how did you learn all the stuff you know about these trucks? Former Ford tech?
Most of it is from hanging out at Ford dealerships...Read Ford literature and retaining the info.
I took automotives in HS and had varies automotive related Jobs.
Little things like this was from getting my hands dirty.
You sound like me. Im only 21 but i spent 3 yrs in auto body during HS. All the teachers there were into hotrods adn such so i jsut started learning. The CC im working on this summer is the second truck that ive built. I work in a fab shop now so im learnin that stuff pretty quick. I try to read as much as i can. I think ive read the old haynes manual a few times. Its hard for me to figure out the wiring diagrams they use though. THe 1 you showed me is alot easier to understadn. Well Again i thank you much for your help.YOu always seem to know exactly what im talkin bout when i ask questions.
