Hey Mil1ion

Mil i know your good with this stuff so i thought id ask you. Ive took a couple wiring harness out of trucks i have for parts and ive noticed a yellow plug on them that has im thinkin 3 holes in it. Any idea what its for? I dont think any of them had anythin plugged into it. Also how are the courtesy lights hooked into the wiring harness? I found a set with a good harness for sell and was wondering if they would hook into my harness that wasnt equiped with them. Thanks man
Dave

That is called a 3 way Y connector and it is for a Keyed power source.

The Cruise Control is plugged into this connector.

I suggest for people to use it for Key powering a radio/stereo/CDplyr.

Ok what about the courtesyt lights? I was told they plug into the back of the headlight switch. Is this correct? And are all wiring harness the same and just have the adds plugged into them or are there different harnesses?

You see that brown connector to the left of the yellow one?
That is for the under dash courtesy lights to plug into.

They then come on when the door opens or when the HL switch is turned.

I guess I better label all those connectors

ok next to the yellow plug is the light for the wipers/lights panel there is also a long red thing that i think is for the door buzzer and the headlightflasher. next to that is a brown plug that has a plug in it with a long wire with a plug that would be somewhere near the steering column and the other looks to go the rest of the way across the dash. Might be for the coutesy lights. this harness that im assuming is for the courtsey lights looks to be able to plug something else into it

well looks like this wiring harness i have here already has the courtesy lights on it. But where my courtesy lights plug in the connector is double sided like somethin else could be plugged in there too

The courtesy harness looks like this.

Note the male and female brown connector that interrupts the 14401 harness to allow for Underdash courtesy lights.

Ok thats what ive got infront of me. Now im guessing the plug you are talking about is the 1 that has what looks to be green and blue wires running into it. Im sort of comfused actually. Is there something else that plugs into that harness?

the harness that i think is for the courtesy lights has a lil red tag on it and 1 side says 334aa wccsj and the other side has the ford emblem and i think it says d71b
