What state are you in? Down here in NC we tint the whole front windows (driver and passenger doors) and they can be as low as 35%. We use the 3M tinting film.

Actually, in alabama the limit is 35% on front windows, no limit on rear windows. Absolutely no tint on windshield except top 6 inches.

i think PA is 70% in the front....no limit in the back and tint allowed on the top 6 inches of the windshield...70% in the front is crazy....the cops are di#*s around here but only if you act like a di$*....i've never been pulled over and my mustang i had a while back i think had 5% on all windows and 20% on the front 2 and that was super dark....never had a problem with it
