I had a truck with a tint on the back glass. It made it next to impossible to see out the back window at night when I was backing up. I ended up peeling it off.

I like tint to help keep things cooler in the summer. When you have tint installed it is best to think about how it works. Tint is made to work with the light, it then decides to block the light on the side that is brightest. So when its is nice and sunny out it works wonders but at night it does seem to work against you when backing up. This can easily be solved. At night when you go to back up with your headlights on the tint thinks HUMM it is brighter on this side(interior) so it wants to work backwards of how you want it to work. So just flip on your parking lights while backing up in very dark locations then is it brighter on the outside of the back window. Still not the same as NO tint but does make the tint work more in your favor.

Hope this helps

Thanks, buhh the darkness is not the problem, I just don't want it to change the look of the truck in a bad way

Unless the job is done half-assed or some weird tint is used (basically anything other than black), I have yet to see a tint job where it doesn't improve the look of the vehicle. My newest truck isn't tinted (yet) and it's driving me nuts. I feel like I'm in a fish bowl.

I usually go 35% for front windows and 20% for the rear. Although, for the newest one, I may lighten it up a but and go 50/35 instead. It's not legal in CA to tint the front windows, but everyone does it anyway.

For privacy use the dark tint, for heat reflection use the light tint. Either way it will only enhance the appearance, IMO. This truck I just bought came from another state and I doubt it will pass the tint laws here in NC so it will have to come off. It's a kind of old and crappy job anyway.

Tint will only make it look better. Besides it will also protect your interior. Use a good film like Llumar or 3M.

Same......lol

I'm going to get mine tinted eventually... Yes, by a PROFESSIONAL.

Will probably go with 15% on the rear slider, and 50% for the front windows.

I would go darker on the front if the legal limit wasn't only 50%, the back can be any percentage.

When I tint my truck, backing up will be easy with a rear slider, I can just open that up to see behind me.

Yeah gna go double limo tint on the sliding windows then 15% on the front, by my buddy George @ The Tint Factory in Carson CA. He has done all my trucks including my 90' bronco, and 97' explorer

I wouldn't do double limo on the rear. Limo which is already 5% is dark enough. Also layering tint usually doesn't work well.
