My 89 bronco has a 302 and a 4 speed. It runs good and idles fine, but seems to bog and stumble while taking off. There seems to be very little torque. Feels like it has a tired 4 cylinder under the hood. It does not smoke or make any wiered noises. Just really under powered. Could the cam have gone flat? And is the cam a roller type? Help!

I have an 88' with a 302, and it just does not have the power I would expect. Is this common?

clean your throttle body.......did this to my 351 and it made a world of difference! um, check you air filter and open your exhaust. (cut out the cats and put 2 1/2 inch pipe) also, tune it up with some premium stuff, ie. motorcraft wires, ac delco rapid fire plugs, good cap/rotor and even stronger ignition!

There was little change in the performance after I did a complete tune up. So I went and bought a code scanner. Maybe that will tell me what is going on. Another thing it is doing is after you stab the gas and then release it, it seems to take a long time for the engine to decelerate. Its in the shop getting painted right now so I will post the results of the scan in a few days. Still have to find where to plug it in now.

The test ports are on the drivers side inner fender. Next to the air-filter box.

The results of the scan really bummed me out. Bad computer. Not going to worry about it though. Getting rid of all that garbage soon. Thanks.

Ahhhhhh...I smell another BB 460 swap, good man!! Its the only way to go!!! Get the towers from any 80-95 ford truck (4x4) that had a 460, take your old towers out and replace with the double stud 460 towers..forget the L & L swap kit, not worth the $$$$

Sorry, no big block for me. Would like to have the power but fuel mileage is a concern.

For the time it takes to deccelerate, replace the Idle Air Controller with any make BUT Ford. Ford's IAC's could literally kill you.
