I have a whining sound coming from the rear of my bronco. I think it could be coming from either the fuel pump or gas line. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem? Also my rear window switch does work putting the window down?
I have a 95 bronco and the fuel pump in the gas tank is emitting a whining sound. I can hear it whenever the engine is running. Try putting your ear to the gas door while the engine is running. If you hear the noise louder, it is the fuel pump. I have driven my bronco with this noise for about a year and put approx. 15K miles on it since the noise started. hope this helps.
What type of a Whining sound does it make? When does it make it? All the time, only when you turn? As for the rear window, Do a search on this forum, many people have had this problem. the solution could be as simple as your tailgate not being shut all the way.
exactly the problem i am having. It only makes the noise when running. I have had this problem for a year and a half for 10,000. However it seems like it is getting louder. I am thinking about bringing it in to the dealer to get fixed. Are you going to let it go?
As for the window problem, I think the dash switch is not making contact. I think I will have the dealer fix both?
The company that handles my warranty(they have NO connection to Ford) says that they won't pay for it to be replaced until it breaks, so i'm going to wait it out. Oh well, guess they'll be paying a towing bill too........I don't think it is too expensive to replace, but you know, i've already bought the warranty i'm gonna use it. Good luck to you.
Yes it is the electric fuel pump. This happened to a buddy with a 1992, I did it for a year until a mechanic pointed it out. It was the buzzing sound that everyone on this board discibes
