strange noise
yesterday coming back from RV dealer,and towing 5th wheel(approx 10000 lbs),I encountered a noise coming from engine compartment on drivers side,At the time the truck shift back to fourth gear and at approx 80/85 lms(50 miles) per the noise occured at 2 different times.I will try and describe..sounded like a ripping burb..was climbing a long encline at these times..eased off throttle and noise stopped ..each time(2) the noise repeated either3/4 times...stopped truck and checked(on flat stretch and nothing loose or leaking,...WAS not fan noise as I have heard this before(fan I mean)..After when truck shift to overdrive I continued home with no further noise..Had tow/haul ON..noise/noises was quite loud..called deler in my town today,but they were no help...anyone had a clue what it could have been ?<
