I have an '01 Explorer Sport 4.0L, 6 cyl, 4x4 with about 84k on it that stalls once warm. Runs great when cold but when warm rpms fall below 500 and vehicle will stall.
Check engine light is on all the time, but I had a friend check and it isn't throwing any codes.
Had a tune up recently, plugs, wires, air filter and fuel filter. After the fuel filter was changed check engine light went off and it ran fine the twenty miles back home until I was about five miles down the road the next time I took it out and the same thing happened.
We're going to try and clean out the IAC, and MAF this weekend.
Beyond that does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

I'm sure we'll try again. We did that last weekend. He owns a body shop, not a mechanical shop but they have to do some mechanical repairs so he has a diagnostic computer. The last codes in the memory were for a broken gas cap last fall. He ran it twice and it wouldn't pull any codes.
stargazer you ever figure out what was wrong? I have the exact same vehicle and mileage and problem as does someone else on this board. Any help would be appreciated.
