4.0 l games
coil pack
relays for A/c, fuel pump
fuel filter
iac
After the iac it ran good for about 1 year then I put in a K&N air filter which was to much for my MAF which I replaced. All OK for about 6 months. Now it stalled again same symptoms. I pulled the codes po171 and p0174. How long will an iac last and I am thinking about replacing intake gasket. It only seems to happen when it is above 30 celcius out and the engine is working hard with the a/c is on but once it starts it takes less and less for it to stall.Any help would be great as this is starting to bug me. When it stalled the last time it started to shudder under light accel. at 50 mph and then was a dead peddle, it still idled till I coasted to a stop then I gave it gas and nothing but a bouncey idle to a stall.
If so & seeing as how it's a 4.0L of that vintage & you have lean A/F codes for both cylinder banks, maybe a vacuum leak from the untake manafold gasket, when she gets warmed up. The 4.0L is known for that intake manafold gasket leak problem.
So you could try re-torquing the intake manafold fasteners & maybe get by, if they haven't been sucked in to much.
With this vintage, just for grins while under hood, I'd also check the condition of all vacuum lines.
Let us know what you find.
