Oil Types

Anybody useing synthetic oil in there 7.3 diesels or what oil are you useing
like 15w40...10w30 Etc and what brands.l

Welcome to the forums! Lots of good info here!

I've got a 6.0 (and am new to diesels) and after some reading here, I just use the Motorcraft...it's inexpensive and readily available everywhere.

Never switched to the synthetic oil here, but I've owned a 97 F250 7.3 that had like 275,000 miles on it, and now own a 2000 F250 7.3 with 155,000 miles on it. Always used Rotella, never had a problem!

I guess I never said which Rotella I've used. 15w40 every 5,000 miles. No problems ever!

I have used the Mobil Delvac 1 synthetic in all my trucks. Everything from my PSD to the Cat 3406's in the big trucks I used to own. In the long run, I found synthetic to be a cost savings in both fuel and maintenance versus mineral due to improved economy and extended drain intervals.

I run AMSoil Synthetics in all my cars and wouldn't run anything different. It is a bit more expensive, but results in less frequent oil changes and noticeable improvements in multiple areas. Just my opinion.
