What Oil/Oil Filter does everyone use?

Just Curious as to what oil and oil filter everyone is using in their slicks. My 66 with a 352 gets a steady diet of Delo 15w40 and Wix oil filters.

20-50 anything (but I use Castrol) and Wix filters. Fram are junk. There's a reason they are so cheap. Do some internet homework if you don't believe me.

You know JoWilker, sometimes I think you come across a little strong on some of us less educated in the fine art of these old trucks, but you are right on on this subject. And funny as hell!!! Right on!!!

BTW Pennzoil 10W30, and Motorcraft filter. I will switch to Amzoil once I replace the engine, but with me not knowing how many miles this one actually has best to avoid the detergent oils and extend this engine as much as possible by sticking with what I think was in it. (I found 5 old Pennzoil empties in the bed.)

I only use Valvoline oil in all my cars and trucks (10w30) and motorcraft filters. And in my 66 I use a Zinc additive because oils of today don't have a lot of zinc and other additives used back in the day (that are needed for flat tappet cams) in them anymore. And it could ruin your cam and lifters. And in my Mustang I use Royal Purple oil with the same filter. And once I get my new engine in my 66 it will get Royal Purple also.

Thanks bum, thought I'd open the gate, for the bs to roll through easier.

10W 30 whats on sale and Motorcraft filter. and 5 qts in my truck right or wrong.

In the past I(we) have put hundreds of thousands of miles on 10W40 Havoline & Fram filters. 210,000 on a W was the highest for me.

Castrol 10-30 and Motorcraft. Thinking about going synthetic in the 302 in my '61 in another couple of thousand miles, but I'm really undecided on that.

Delo 15-40. Nappa filter when they don't have Motorcraft. This in the FE. 10-30 Nappa synthetic in the 2.9 and Delo 400 40w in the Y block.

I normally use the Motorcraft FL1 HP or sometimes the plain FL1.

A few years back I had run out of FL1 HP's so stuck on a Fram PH8A
this was on my 427 R Code comet. After the oil and filter change I fired it up and found I was down 15lbs of oil pressure. Thought something was going on with the engine/bearings. I then ran to dealer and picked up a few more FL1 HP's. BINGO the 15lb of pressure came back.

That was my last Fram filter, never again. Its no wonder they are rated one of the if not the worst filter on the market!

Oils, I will keep that to myself.

If you use Motorcraft then you can also use the Purolator Gold since the Motorcraft is made by Purolator at this time.

What's on sale at the local advanced auto...but try to get the Valvoline synthetic if at all possible. There are some filters to avoid as well. Bob the Oil Guy has a pretty interesting site if you are not familiar with it.
