I've tried doing a search for "IPR" and come out with nothing. I want to know symptoms of it failing. I seen that it can be cleaned and resealed. Can I buy a new one from somewhere other than the dealer? At freeway speeds when I floor it, my truck accelerates ok, but when I start to back out of the throttle, it surges forward like an animal for a brief second?!?!?!? My turbo also surges all the time when in top gear with no load other than my 37" tires? Time for a rebuild? I have the wicked wheel, just haven't got around to installing it/ thinking there is a better way to go?
I think you mean IRP...you may want to try cleaning the EBPS (exhaust back pressure sensor) tube first..it plugs up with soot and make the EBPV (exhaust back pressure valve)stay closed..you can find the tube on the passenger side exhaust manifold..look in by the front tire..on the front of the manifold you will see a steel tube..looks like a brake line..it go's up to the front of the motor on top..from under the hood just in front of HPOP just behind the belt you will see a sensor with a wire going in the top..at the bottom of that sensor you will see the steel tube..pull it off and spray the inside of the tube with brake clean and run a wire down through it a few times...you can pull the sensor off and clean the bottom side of the sensor where the tube go's in but don't spray that or dig in too deep..just enough to open the hole..may not be the fix..but its free and well worth checking first...that tube being plugged can cause power loss and low MPG
IPR= Injection Pressure Regulator. If you search the words and not the intials, you should get some results. Don't know if that is your problem or not. IPR failure will usually trip th SES light and throw a 1211 code among others.
