Have a 93 bronco with 5.8 motor.Truck ran perfect until yesterday.Saw the "check engine" light go on,Truck started to
hesitate on acceleration.I was advised it needed an oxygen senser.
Installed new senser, cleared the codes in the computer.Truck still doing the same thing.Observed that the tail pipe looks real black, like its to rich. Any help would be appreciated.

I feel like I know a little about these things but I don't believe in shot gun trouble shooting. Either pay the 1 hour to get it scanned or buy a star tester and shoot your own codes.
I bet it's hard to start cold, too. I had same problem and it was a bad fuel pressure regulator. The check eng code probably points to O2 code(too lean or too rich) but that is normal because of the raw fuel being dumped passed it. Cost by dealer to repair was approx 275.00. Good luck. When in doubt, pay the diagnosis charge by a dealer and be done with it. Good Luck. EP
Hopefully someone will still see this. My Bronco is acting the same way. At first the check engine light came on and then it wouldn't start well and couldn't hold an idle right away. If I pumped the gas it would start but got consistently worse. The dealer fixed some stuff on it, but really only cleaned the fuel system up, that's what they told me anyway. I have still noticed that when I gun it the engine bogs a little and then takes off. However, this is random cause sometimes it just takes off. I also notice that it seems that the engine keeps the rpm's up after I let off the gas for a couple seconds. This doesn't seem right to me. Are these consistent with your problem on the regulator? I am gonna change it tomorrow so hopefully that will fix it.
