02 sensers????
Been reading up on this till my eyes hurt still have ????s. I have a 96 5.8 with true duals. The truck came with 3 o2 sensers, 2 b/4 cats 1 after; put duals on when warranty expired. I put on 2.5" with glass packs no cats left rear o2 off, the check engine light came on (so what) and I drove it like that for 3-4 years. It didnt run bad but after moving to the city I want to quiet it down and the next time I get it inspected I have to run the admissions test (February). The check engine light is still on and it's not running very well. It seems to want to sputter at mid-rpm. I changed the fuel filter, which helped a little. I put a dual inlet/dual outlet hi-flow cat on, but still didn't put the third 02 sensor on (b/c the wire is not long enough). Can I just make the wire longer? Would that fix my problem or could it be something else?

The 3rd O2 sensor checks the working condition of the cat. Since you have none it threw the CEL. You either have to reinstall the sensor or find a device that plugs into the wire and simulates a sensor. I think you will have a hard time passing the test.
