hi i have just installed a powertrax no slip in the 9". everything went good thru the assembly process, clearance test checked ok. now in the final steps, when you try to disengage the unit, i cant get it to disengage. hold drivers side while trying to rotate the pass side in opposite direction, will not release. i have installed it 2 times and still no luck. what have i done wrong? pleasepleaseplease help.
I am not familiar with the interal replacement kits, other than they are not recommended for large tires or high torque applications. I'd suggest calling them on monday.
that is one of my problems, i cant call them from work. ive read several threads about the powertrax system, but they are all about if they are streetable and how much noise they make. i dont care about any of that, chances are i wont hear it over the dual exhaust . just want traction to both wheels. wont be offroadin in this rig, its only 2wd. just a slightly modified daily driver.this seemed to be the least expensive way to go. please help. thanks , greg from ohio
approximately how much should the tire move freely before stopping against the driveline? im getting only about 3-4" of rotation. it seems to be the same on my old car. just doesnt seem to be enough freeplay to turn any harder. is this the backlash? i have just enough play in the ring and pinion to just notice a little klink, probably not even a 1/16 of play in the ring.i have shed blood on my forearm trying to break this thing loose. should there be more play in the wheel while in park? apparently these units arent as common as i figured.
