Torque may go up just a little, therefore HP may rise alittle also. Other wise should be very close.

someone from the delaware chapter has to be going as well, maybe post a thread and see if you can meet up with some of the guys in the area

Yes, there is one fellow with a digital camcorder. He was willing to do the video, but I don't know if he plans to attend the show on the 20th.

Main thing is the shorter rod gets the charge moving quicker.

How about the longer rod staying a bit longer at tdc thus increasing torque and the longer rod allowing higher rpm thus increasing hp?

It's not totally dialed in yet, and I have a couple of bugs, but it runs great. It's wickedy awesome scary to break traction at 50 mph.
Fixed it

Sounds like you're having fun dan, and tim sounds like business is booming, best of luck and don't be scared to share the builds

do you think the smaller journals on the cleveland will help it make some more hp or is this more of a myth?

I just checked the gas mileage on a short trip of 72 miles round trip. I got 15.6 mpg. It was mixed highway driving. Up to about 65 mph for stretches of a few miles. Then down to 45 mph through a couple of towns and a couple of traffic lights. I couldn't pull out fast either, because of traffic in front of me. That helps with 93 Octane E10 fuel running above $3.00/gallon.

My rear axle ratio is 3.25:1 and my tires are less than 30" tall. I run about 3000 RPM at 70 MPH.

My compression ratio is 10.8:1, and the motor is Fuel Injected.

I have never gotten close to that mileage with a carb.

I could run 3.0:1, but my RPMs might drop too low at 55 MPH and I might lose efficiency, but with EFI that may not be a concern.

I was following someone on this trip. I don't usually drive that conservatively. I may not be able to repeat that mileage, but I have another trip coming up this weekend, so I'll check it.

It is a lot of fun, but it's hard to open it up in traffic. I'm planning on a trip to Delmar Dragstrip in Delmar DE on May 20th. I also plan to take some video. My video camera is tape. I will need to get it digitized, unless I find someone with a Digital Video camera.
