changing my tranny

iwas wondering if i had to remove my transfer case to change the tranny on 85 bronc? any help would be greatly appericated.

Yes you do.... its actually fairly easy.. drain it... remove the drive shafts and linkage.. and drop it... the NP-208's are light when empty...

Uzi... Yamaha Sleds, Honda Bikes, and Ford Trucks....

I also have to change the tranny of my 89 bronco. I was wondering if it is completely necissary to drain the transer-case before I remove it.

changing my tranny

the t-case draining is to reduce weight...it also makes sense to go ahead and change the oil anyway while you're under there....

it is a lot easier to remove the t-case first, then you can more easily handle the tranny. the time spent removing and installing it is less than the time spent trying to balance the assembly while trying to get tranny back on engine with t-case attached. you are less likely to damage the parts and yourself this way.
