Does anybody know the total number of skid plates on the off-road option or the Ranger 4X4 2001 thru 2004? Does the 2001 Ranger with off-road option have a front skid plate or skid plates under the torsion bars? I am interested in how skid plates varied through the years.

The Ford service manual says that if you have to remove the speed ring on the differential (for ABS) that you should not re-use it. Why is that and has anybody re-used one?

my 2000 has 3 i think, the one under the front end isnt a skid plate tho, its a peice of aluminum that i have to straighten every oil change
