I see by the trusty calendar that Memorial Day is coming up at the end of this month, Monday the 28th. How's about we plan another GTG, possibly at Micke Grove, or maybe a two-day event complete with camping? I know a lot of folks make other plans for for Memorial Day, but this occurs to me as a possibilty. We need to have more group social functions and this might well be a good opportunity to do just that.
Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?
How about a San Francisco fun day? We all meet up in San Fran and spend the day doing fun touristy things, Fisherman's Wharf, GG Park, that sort of thing...SierraBen could be our tour guide. We could camp up in Marin somewhere if we wanted to make it two-day event.

Dan,
Great Idea. I can bring my truck to it... unless it is in SF. Imagine driving a 70 highboy with manual steering, transmission and brakes down Lombard Str.
I think Lodi or other surrounding area would be good as well as Clear Lake.
I'm going to be up at Black Butte Reservoir (west of Orland, CA) with my local sailing fleet. I did notice that they have some off-road hill climbing areas. It may be more tailored toward motorcycles though.
Might be an option, depending on if the day lines up with me. For the past 6 years I've always had to irragate on one of the 3 days on Memorial Day and Labor Day, even caught a few Easters on the way.
The S10 has arrived, so hopefully it will be in my possesion by the end of the month. That will make it easier for me to attend events unless it will be a camping event, in which case I would take the gas guzzling camper.
(Wonder how hard it would be to put a Ford Oval on the grill, and Explorer/Ranger badging on the front fenders?)
I'd be happy to host something up here. We have an excellent state park just a few miles away from me right on the lake, it has a swim beach, boat dock, RV facilities and so on. The end of May is usually really nice up here...
I still like the idea of a day in S.F. but that doesn't have to be right away, we could do it later in the summer when we're looking to cool off from the inland heat.
