The S10 has arrived, so hopefully it will be in my possesion by the end of the month. That will make it easier for me to attend events unless it will be a camping event, in which case I would take the gas guzzling camper.
(Wonder how hard it would be to put a Ford Oval on the grill, and Explorer/Ranger badging on the front fenders?)
Well, I was only thinking of the oval itself, not the entire grille, but that would work
Calm down Clint, I doubt starting a thread about an S10 would go over very well on an FTE site. even if it does sport a blue oval badge, and Ranger fender emblems.
Ok, to stay on topic, I will say this, since the holiday is on a weekend, that means I will not be able to attend as I still work weekends. So, again I will be there in spirit. Yeah, yeah, technically it is Monday, however, my days off are Wednesday and Thursday.

Anybody given any more thought to this as the Memorial day weekend approaches...? We're talking weekend after next...
If we're going to do something that involves camping I should probably check into the campground very soon, as I may have to make reservations, being a rather busy weekend.
I do have an alternative plan:
I could check with my landlord (though I don't anticipate a problem) and see if it's all right for us to camp right here on the property next to the creek. I could get a porta-potty for the weekend, though there wouldn't much else in the way of amenities. We couldn't have an open fire, but I think we could have one contained inside a BBQ or approved fire pit, something like that...I can't recall the state regs exactly so I'd have to check to make sure, although Tim might know...
We're about 3 miles from the lake, either to the state park or the county park. Both have boat ramps, and I'm sure I can get a boat, maybe even a pontoon boat along with the ski boat. For that matter, my boss has a Sea Doo personal watercraft thingy that I need to rebuild the carb on. I have the kit already so it's just a matter of doing it. I think he'd let me have it for the weekend in return for doing the carb work (unless he has other plans for it that weekend...)
I'm still up in the air, but things look promising unless we go on a 10 day water rotaion, currently on a 13 day, which put's me in the middle of next week, then the week following the holiday...but if things go to 10 days and a few guys pass the water, it'll stick me smack dab in the middle of the 3-day.
I think I'll get the tags on the camp trailer anyways.
We could also go back to my earlier Micke Grove suggestion, just spend a day there either Sun. or Mon. Some who want to camp could maybe go over to Tower Park (if it's not full...)
That would be a lot more centrally located and would be an easier day trip for those who don't want to (or can't) make a two or three-day event out of it.
Then I guess we should put it up to a vote (or whatever.)
Anybody who's interested in doing something as a group for Memorial day, state your preferance as to the above optons and state the best day for you, or suggest a workable alternative.
I will go where ever you guys want - but my style is to arrive a day early and leave a day later than most of the traffic. I am likely to travel Thursday or Friday, and return Tuesday or even later in the week.
One thing about Mick Grove, we could likely lure Dale and his crew to it. I would enjoy watching his boys at the zoo.
It does have a zoo?
I thought FTE was "the" zoo.

Hopefully I will be able to make it to where ever this will happen.
It's Dan's fault!
Oh, wrong thread!
I'm sure they'd love it, we havent been there in a really long time. I'm out for Sunday due to the weddin' that I thought was on Saturday. I can likely do Sat.
