Or which of these options do you guys think is better a 3" dropped axle or 3 1/2 inch mono leafs im leaning towards the monoleafs in hopes they might a give a smother ride.

Whats the general concensus here as you guys have way more experince with these truck than i do.

The monos are a less expensive option, also.

However, as a person running monos, I can tell you that they aren't necessarily a smoother ride. I am considering changing back to the stock spring pack with reverse eyes and a few leaves removed. Plus, there is the consideration that if the monos break A leaf, you're toast.

I would go with the drop axle. You get the drop and keep full suspension travel and frame clearance.

What Randy Jack Said.
Know several people that went the mono route and weren't pleased.

I'm doing reverse eyed leafs w/every other leaf removed. With the option of going dropped axle if it doesn't sit low enuf. (48 F1) I haven't done it yet, so I can't tell ya for sure, but I've been told to shy away from monos, but I'm gonna be driving mine alot, too.

A very smooth ride (for a truck) is what you can expect. TCI has good stuff. You should be quite happy with the mod.

some years ago i owned a COE KW and converted the front to a parabolic arrangement that would be very similar to the mono setup, the only way i could get a smooth ride was to fit twin shocks on each side, this made for a very different ride ( much better ) i like the safety of multiple leaves, butr a mono set up right should work

I totally agree with what that link says and know of two instances of mono's breaking. Extremely lucky that both were very low speed incidents with no injuries or loss of control, but imagine the situation at 55mph. Tell you what, I'll let you imagine that 'cause I don't even want to think about it. I'd stick to the multi-leaf pack with fewer leaves, de-arched, reversed eyes, or even let momma ride on the front bumper to get the ride down, but I won't even talk mono's in the same sentence as my truck.
