I was checking all the fluids the other day and noticed the Power steering fluid was low. I topped it off. It is stll reading less than full on the dipstick.
Imeadiately after this the steering wheel started kicking back while turning. At speed and in driveway. I read on some sight most likely this one or Diesel Stop that someone was advised to drain the fluid and put in ATF.
What should I do before I replace the power steering pump. I have not driven more than a couple of miles since this problem started.
not sure if this helps but have a similar problem in that mine is hard to turn--but only to right. can't remember who posted a possible problem/solution in that it may be a valve sticking on the p/s pump. haven't figured out where or how to check valve yet. need to get manual out and look at pics. this might be something else for you to check if linkage isn't obvious problem.
