Exhaust Manifold Versus Header
Watching krewat't project, today I do out and look under my 2000 F250 V10, and what to you know I am misssing about 4 nuts on my drivers side and 3 on the passengers side.
Do you think this is where the hissing sound is coming from when towing my 6500lb Travel trailer??
So I am searching and I see headers discussed and exhaust manifold replacement. Sorry for the stupid question but what is the difference??
The banks Torque tubes are almost $1200 plus installation, a little rich for my blood plus overkill on my truck that is gone in about 18months.

Exhaust Manifolds are the stock cast iron "logs" the truck comes with.
Headers are tubes bent and welded to a flange and offer better performance due to the exhaust gases from each cylinder meeting at the collector instead of just dumping into a hollow tube like the stock cast manifolds.
Some of the "hissing" could be just the sound of the exhaust and engine. Exhaust leaks sort of make a tapping or thumping sound. With all those broken studs there are probably leaks though.
