No it's a retrofit.. No modifications needed...

It's made by BAC American Lighting.. They have no US website but I am working on getting the guy who I got them from to set me up with supplying. I'm gonna talk to Bill (Dfuser) and see bout us selling them..

They are easy to install.. You mount a ballast by each light.. A wire goes from the Ballast to the Bulb.. Then a harness plugs into the factory 9007 plug and hooks to the ballast.. Then there are two pig tails on the bulb and on the 9007 plug that you hook together, thats for the high beams.. It was really easy to install just a pita to find a mounting spot.. Especially on the Drivers side.

I'll post tonight on the quality but I can see how bright they are in daylight.. They light my reflectors up blue..

No thats not a Hyundai.. It's my mum's 2005 Kia Amanti Fully Loaded.. Thing looks like a Jag from the front until you see Kia on the trunk lol.

I don't want to be the one to wet on your charcol, but...

Aftermarket HID lighting systems that plug into your current lights are illegal in the US and not DOT approved, hence the reason you cannot find a US website for the manufacture of your light kit. The feds have been cracking down on businesses selling these kits in the US.

Problem with just plugging in HID lights into your factor light housing is that the reflectors were not properly designed for the HID bulbs, thus resulting in poor lighting performance and undue glare to oncoming drivers. The only cars that can have HID lights legally installed on them in the US are cars that came from the manufacture with HID lights in them.

Here are a few links for some more reading info.

Hope this helps

"Are these XENON HID light systems street legal?
Every country and jurisdiction has its own rules and regulations governing the use of automotive lighting. XENON H.I.D. lighting systems that are supplied with the vehicles from the factory are DOT / E approved. Our kits are also made by the same OEM manufacturers that supply all the major car companies of the world. NO XENON H.I.D. lighting system available from any source is DOT / E approved if installed outside of the factory. These kits are not street legal for use on public roads as they are. As a result, we officially endorse the kit for exhibition and off-road use and will only sell the kit to be used for these purposes. We are not responsible for customers who violate the terms of sale in which they will assume all responsibilities for any unauthorized or unintended use other than exhibition or off-road use."

There is some noise out there that the feds are looking to stop allowing the factory HID systems as well in the US. They're getting many complaints and many accidents are starting to have glare from these lights listed as a contributing factor. While I don't expect to see them go away, I do expect to see the systems modified from their current form in the US.

Just be careful with these kits, they create dangerous glare when put in a stock halogen reflector and offer less effective lighting. What K temp are they? I am assuming 6000K by the bluish look. Not sure if you like nice projects, but doing a total retrofit for a few hundred dollars more would give you amazing results.
Here is a pic and link to my complete retrofit just to give you some other options and ideas. The pic is of the cutoff before I fine tuned it. After aiming it is completely sharp. You know how when you pull up behind someone at a light and your headlight blasts their rearview and side mirror and blinds the driver? These dont. The cutoff sits right on their trunk lid, leaving them in the dark. I never have been flashed.
Take a look, and see what ya think.

Thumbs down hid kit

hey dan, i picked up a set of lights from an 07 caddy deville. i got them today at the englishtown nj swap meet. they were COMPLETE and not even a scratch on the housings. i pulled them apart and they are not bi-xenons. i did hook them up and rested them on my rad support. they are so much better than the stock lights. i am thinking that i dont even need the highs. i know i need them for inspection but, i inspect it myself....so it passes...anyway, what do you think. i paid $100 for the pair. yup, $100.....
