my silver stars aren't blue, nor do they have a blue coating, nor is the light they emmit blue...I have them on two cars...did i miss something?...I know there was a blue bulb on the racks made by sylvania, it was a cheaper set, but I don't think they were listed a silver stars...I'm confused
From the Sylvania website
"Q) What’s the difference between European and North American SilverStar?
A) The Sylvania North American SilverStar bulbs have a high tech amethyst blue coating to help give the whiter light appearance. The European SilverStar does not have a coating for the whiter light, making it more like the SYLVANIA (US) XtraVision product line. Both bulbs offer greater luminance (increased brightness)." http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...skedQuestions/
Actual projecter headlights? Don't they just replace your stock headlight assembly totally? Or are you talking about something other than what I'm thinking about?
I know what the blue lights look like, mine are not blue so I must not know what I have other than sylvania and that they most definately illuminate way better than factory. Could've swore they said silver stars...
OK I read the site thanks, blackhat, I do have silver stars, although the light does not appear blue from the road or inside the truck as some I see that blind me, what those are I don't know unless those are the HID lights everyone is speaking about...those are dangerous.

There are some cheap blue ones that really are hazardous, that some of the kids run. And yes they produce alot of glare.
Well someone else reputable on here, whom I trust for advice, recommended them as an improvement over factory without blinding oncomming traffic and as the owner of several surfire flashlights I just read the lumen out-put vs. factory and bought a set. They do illuminate better to the point I'm happy, I just don't want to go out there and blind someone and cause an accident with something that would make me liable because it was illegal...I have a hitch story like that.

No they are not illegal and you will not blind someone with them. Read my links and it explains the difference between really bad cheap blue bulbs trying to immitate HID lamps and the blue/violet coating on Sylvania Silver Stars. The Sylvania Xtravision bulbs will give you as good of performance as the Sylvania Silver Stars and last longer. The Sylvania Xtravision bulbs are very similar to the Oram Silver Star bulbs.
The Sylvania Silver Stars have a shortend lifespan, because the filament is overdriven to get a legal amount of light despite the blue/violet glass coating.
More lumens is a good thing and you can't go wrong with a few Surefire flashlights
Ah! good because I bought an extra set of the XtraVision...that are now somewhere in my truck as spares (I hope) ... I think I hi-jacked Storms thread...sorry.
hey storm, as a matter of fact, having a real set of projector hid lights will dramatically enhance your lighting. typically,,and i say typically, when you add a "KIT" such as yours, and i had one also in my old headlights, its actually glare that others see. with the projectors, there is no glare. when you have a projector, it "projects" the beam in a cleaner pattern. on POST #12 HERE, click the link on the bottom of his pic. he shows a step by step on how to do it. i just bought a set of caddy headlights that are projector HID's for $100. they are about 6months old. pics in my gallery of the new lights. all i have to do is to fit them into my ford lights.
