The 10k mod IMO is a well worth investment, the idle really sucks ***** but the power increase is IMO 20hp like cookie mentioned. I had it in before I told a freind to see if he noticed and he noticed right away I had more power. As for the tranny, shifts good and tight, no issues but I've had a little work done to the valve body and replaced the shift selinoids too. Got my buddy who builds trannys to do it for me and thier were $500 in parts put into this thing. Only thing I have noticed with the tranny is that I'm starting to really notice the slippage in the factory torque converter. The stock converter really sucks and i'm loosing alot of my power into heat because of the converter. Before I've done any mods I would sit around 140 degrees with the current cooler, when I did all my mods the tranny temps climbed to 170 now which is still safe but it has increased. The temp are city driving. The shifting is still nise and firm, giving me a nice lil jerk between shifts.
call me crazy but I have had the 10K mod on my truck for the last 10 months.........no problems, but I took it off the other day because I was going to install a chip, wasn't sure how they would mesh............anyway, my shifting (E4OD) got worse.
Basically, my tranny shifted smoother and firmer with the 10K mod.
Just got my chip in today and haven't driven it yet, will know in the morning if it shifts better with the chip
Well, first thing I already made the 10K mod and had a little extra (nice) kick from the engine and nothing else changes, so when I read that I posted at the begining, I should ask to my gurus friends, if it was true or not, because nobody wants to hurt the tranny, but I am agree with all of your imputs, and as Cuda said if you have some previos troubles with your tranny probably with ANY mod it could be wors.
And BTW Tony Wildman told me that when you put a Chip, the 10K mod is not necessary.
