OK so the title may lead you to believe it was a competition. All I can say is I got my front end wipped by this truck. I am sitting at a stop sign at a T intersetion in the left lane waiting for traffic to turn left. Along comes a tractyor traieler no less extended 54ft trailer alond side of me. Idon't even thin twice about it. I think he is going right. Well not I can't see to my right , so I wait for him. So I am looking to my left watching constructions 75 ft away and see my buddy who is a cop here. He starts walking over to me and what do you know the tractor trailer finally starts to move, along the fornt end of my truck. He just made a left without looking for me and kept going. Ripping sheets metal like a hot butter knife. My buddy was trying to stop him and he didnt even notice him. We chased him down the street after he completely messed up my truck. We were looking at it and were saying if I had not lifted the X 6 inches he would have driven right over the front end. So now I need a new hood, fender, bumber, light assembly and not sure what else. I have a feeling that after it has been painted the front end is definately going to look different then the rest of the truck and that will suck. No one could beleive this guy was not stopping . Just more or less drove through me. I can't even imagine if he had a small civic or sports car next to him. He would have crushed it like a compactor.

 

That sucks, your lucky that you were in ur truck and that your freind was a cop and that he was there so he can vouch for the story. Got any pics?

Sucks big time about the Ex, but thank god you were ok and in the Ex. If he could not see something the size of the Excursion, I think the dude needs a white cane.

That is true. I might have to look into it. Haven't got the estimate done yet. At least my buddy is the one who will do the work. I'll ask him about to see if he can get it done with the money I am getting or a little added to it. Would be cool. How hard do you think the 08 swap would be Monsta?

 

I saw one of the 08's today, atleast I think it was an 08. I thought to myself, "that thing is ugly, why isn't the driver covering their face". lol

 

I think the 08 front end looks much more rigid and tough. I mean we all can't drive around with a plow setup in the front. lol

 

I actually think the 08 may be more involved than is really needed but then again, I do not know for sure. The from frame horns are lower than what you currently have. So there may be problems getting everything to fit.

I suggested not because I like the look (I don't really) but because you'd have the only 08 nosed Excursion on the planet. That'd be kinda cool .

I would definitely do an 05 front end if nothing else. But those 08 fender vents would be kinda cool.

 

That 08 fron t end on a ex would look pretty cool. Also are you going to post pics of ur battle with a semi truck?

I drive a semi too. Yes, even truck drivers can have a dumb spell. I turned too tight in a parking lot, and had the trailer smack into the hood of a parked chevy.

Yes, I carry insurance, and yes it did buy the car owner a fixed hood and paint job. THINGS HAPPEN, and I am no idiot! Everyone wants what comes out of the back of those tractor-trailers, but no one wants to accomodate them~
