is the info i got from the ven decoder and i am sure some of the others on here will give you the rest of the info from the axle code
Scifi266, What that tells you is how it left the factory, does not tell you that it has changed or how many times it was changed, or if it is still original.
There have been many bolt on exchanges on my truck that a lot of folk will look at and say it left the factory that way.

I have one of these C5TA-VD 2795-1, 4:10 Rear Dana 60 with 16 Spline axles in a 1966 Ford F250. I would like to know how easy it is to install a set of 4:56 gears and a detriot locker and I have a set of 2" by 11" brakes and I will be hauling a lot with this truck and would like to update at least the Rear brakes so how can I find a kit for this modification?

I have a set of 11" x 2" brakes.
Welcome to FTE
F250's never came with 11" x 2" brakes. 1955/65 F250's all came with 12 1/8" x 2" brakes. 12" x 2 1/2" brakes introduced in 1966 F250's, but only for certain models/GVW's.
So, 1966/72 F250's could have either 12 1/8" x 2" or 12" x 2 1/2" brakes / Whatever it is, front/rear will be the same.
12" x 2 1/2" front/rear brakes were standard equipment for 1966/72 F250 Camper Specials and w/a GVW of 7,500 lbs.
1968/72 F250 2WD's with optional dual piston front discs, 1973/79 F250 2WD's w/standard equipment dual piston caliper disc brakes all have 12" x 2 1/2" rear brakes.
Some 1973/79 F250 2WD's have single piston caliper front discs and 12 1/8" x 2" rear brakes.

Detroit Lockers were never installed in F250's. Were only available with 9" rear axles and were usually installed and used in Galaxies and other cars for drag racing...straight ahead performance.
You don't want to be rounding too many corners with a Detroit locker, or before too long, you can kiss your rear axle good-bye.
Pal of mine with more money than sense installed one in his new 1963 Galaxie, punched it going around corners so he could peel rubber. Within a week, the rear axle shattered!
Dana 60's were available with Limited Slip (Traction-Lok) as an option, but only with 3.54 & 3.73 ratios. Something may be available in the aftermarket sector, but it won't be cheap.
I was hoping to use this truck to pull bigger boats out of lakes on steap incline ramps. I am not sure is limited slip will be anough and I do not want to tear up my rear end so I know the locker is out but what if I used a possi? Also I would like to unstall power steering pump with box and Power brake booster? Were these items options for my 1966 Ford F250?

Posi or Posi-Traction are GM terms (originally were Packard's). Ford: Limited Slip.
If you want to swap in 12" x 2 1/2" brakes, you'll have to find an F250 that has them, remove all the parts including the backing plates.
All the brake parts (drums [not the hubs] shoes, springs, misc hardware) can be bought from NAPA, other autoparts stores. Hubs were Ford Dealer parts only, are obsolete, dunno if any can be found NOS as I've never looked.
If you remove the Bendix P/S gearbox, you will be opening a can of worms. For one thing, the steering column is a different length with P/S.
If you install a manual gearbox, you will need the manual steering column, where will you find one?
The manual gearbox is the same: 1965/72 F100/250 2WD & 1967/72 F350. Where will you find a used gearbox that will be any good? Some parts are available NOS, some aren't.
The steering coupler (between the steering shaft and input shaft of the gearbox) is 1966/68 F100/250 only.
Why in the world would you want to remove the power brake booster?
I am looking to remove non powered steering and brake master cylinder and install power units. One of my questions for the brake master cylinder is would it be possible to just install a booster or do I need to find a hole unit somewhere. and I have a non power steering box and want to install power steering and a pump! what can I do to achieve this? Thanks for your help on the Dana 60! I will find a Track lock for it. Most of the truck is all original except the engine and bed. It was a cool find to have a truck with a complete dash that no one has cut into for custom gauges or stereo!
