Headliner vs. No Headliner

Can someone tell me what the difference is between the trucks with a headliner and without. I have been looking at interior accessories and some are specific to which one you choose. Mine has a headliner, but just curious as to what the difference is other than the obvious. Does it have to do with interior trim or something?

XL's and XLT's had headliners and plastic trim, other trim levels only as an individual option I think.

It's a matter or keeping the sun off yer head, a headliner insulates the interior from the sun and helps your ac.

My truck doesn't have a headliner, but it's still double walled steel up there. I assume they have insulation between the two pieces of metal, but I really don't know for sure.

Since we all know how the headliner starts to sag after a number of years, it would be nice if the aftermarket offered a plastic headliner...change it once and for all. I've had to replace my headliner twice now...it's getting old.

Click for example of what's available aftermarket:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/80-96...mZ160099784454 . I've seen similar items for under $200.

That's good to know. Maybe by the time I need to replace mine next time...they'll have one for the SuperCab. Thanks.
